What is a wedding story and how can you capture it through pictures?
Your wedding day has arrived, and all of your preparations will finally materialize in the church, the ceremony, the wedding party, and above all in all those moments that you and your partner will share, which will follow you as stories to be narrated after many years to your friends and children.
But how did you end up there? What was the defining moment at which you realised that your partner is the one you want to share your life with? How did you feel during that moment? How did you feel when he or she proposed to you?
More or less, we all have experienced feelings of fulfilment and happiness because there is a person in our lives to make us smile. Personally, I would wish for another person to be next to me during those moments, to immortalise those feelings through photography. Photographs that would capture feelings and situations that I would like to carry with me, as a legacy.
Precisely this is what your wedding story is about; a photographic album that is not merely a simple paper, but a legacy as rich, that you will surely understand its meaning as the years pass and the memories come to life through the pages of your wedding’s photographic album.
The award and reward of emotions
A few days ago, the international photography competition Photo Wedding Stories took place in Athens, where I was distinguished in the storytelling of Anthi’s and Mano’s wedding in Monemvasia.
What could I first recall about this wedding? The intense and true feelings of the couple, the strong and full of spark moments with their families and friends, or the moving moments that they experienced? Certainly, my friends Anthi and Manos will have similar recollections.
Many will wonder if the fact that the wedding took place in the magical town of Monemvasia had something to do with earning this award. Surely, this also played a role, but mostly to all of us that as external viewers cannot feel what they did for each other!
Though I should be happy for my award, at this precise moment what gives me happiness above all is that I contributed in creating a sentimental legacy for the couple, that will accompany them and will remind them of the reasons for which they are together and hold each other’s hands!
Many thanks to Anthi and Manos for showing trust in me, Photo Wedding Stories for honouring me with the award as well as for the seminars that they organise, and Master Jerry Ghionis for the powerful seminar and his teachings during the seminars that were organised by PWS.
